A new high speed line is proposed linking Singapore with Malaysia. As part of the feasibility work WestonWilliamson proposed adjusting the location of the Singapore station to develop commercial development above and around the transport mode. Further connectivity was provided by light rail and buses in an integrated design with a tower above. The tower houses apartments and a hotel as well as commercial space. When WestonWilliamson designed the Jubilee Line station at London Bridge in the 1990s there was no provision made for contribution from private owners who benefited from for the better transport funding from the public purse. Gradually things have changed with these privately funded Singapore proposals helping to contribute to the provision of public transport.
